Updates 3/30/08

Two updates to note:

1. I have added a few additional concepts to the review sheet for exam 2 for the material we will be covering on Tuesday.
2. The PowerPoint presentation for Romantic orchestral music is now uploaded to WebCT. This includes the material for Tuesday.
   

Exam 2 postponed

I have decided to postpone exam 2 until Thursday, April 3. Please note that the "Late Romanticism" lecture, originally scheduled for after the exam, will be on Tuesday, April 1, and will be tested on exam 2.

PowerPoint presentation for Romantic opera

I have uploaded the PowerPoint presentation for Romantic opera. Since it will not be shown in class next Tuesday, please be sure to review it before class.

Syllabus update 3/18/08

I have further reduced the listening assignments for Romanticism so that we do not have to rush before the next test. Please omit assignments that have been grayed out on the syllabus.

Exam 2 review

The review sheet for exam 2 is posted.

Syllabus update 3/11/08

I have posted the remaining short assignments on the syllabus. In a couple of instances, the date the assignment is due has changed from previous versions.

Also, please note that the sequence of assignments for the classes dealing with Romanticism has changed slightly. In part, this change is to accommodate my absence on Tuesday, March 25, to give a lecture out of town. You will have a substitute instructor that day to show the film of the opera Aïda.
